This is a great set for fifty dollars. While Lego could have done a cash grab and just released the Ecto-1, with the mini figs on their own, they give you everything in this complete set.
The mini figs have great personality and you can tell who character is based off expressions alone. they come with proton packs, and even have their name on their suits.The car is detailed, with lots of true details--even the license plate. It's ridiculously cute, fun, and not too awfully difficult or time consuming. It would be fun to build with the kids while watching the film on the 30th anniversary.
It has just over 500 pieces, so you're paying just about 10 cents a piece, which is about average for a Lego licensed set. This is also available at Lego stores, so if you are a VIP at Lego (it's their rewards program), it's the same price there and you can get your points. It's also available at the Lego online store, but amazon does have the benefit of fast shipping (especially since it is Prime eligble).
I hope this encourages Lego to do more Ghostbusters sets--I'd love to see a Slimer figure or Stay Puft set.
